On Wednesday we were witnesses to DeLand’s first win of the 2017 season, where they run-ruled the Monarchs in 7 innings. They started off the 1st by reaching on errors and loading the bases for Daniel Acevado, who brought in a run with an RBI single. Jordyn Smith followed suit with a SAC fly, as well as Dexter Smith, who had a 2-RBI single of his own. Sanford found themselves in a bases loaded jam in the 3rd inning, where they proceeded to walk in 3 more DeLand runs. Ryan Gusto was the star on the mound for the Angels. Gusto threw a complete game 7-inning shut out, allowing just 2 hits and walking only 1 batter.
