Winter Park and Leesburg played to a 2-2 tie on Wednesday. The Freedom took an early lead in the 1st inning when Justin Moran scored on a SAC fly from Will Saxton. The Thunder responded with runs in the 3rd and 4th from Dylan Droke and Collin Teegarden. Winter Park tied it back up late in the 7th off of an RBI single from Connor Scheitzach. Winter Park threw 7 different pitchers in the game, and the Thunder threw their two studs, Alex Smith and Colby Woodard.

Winter Garden and DeLand kicked off the first of their double header on Wednesday. The Suns added 5 runs through the first 3 innings of play. Matt Morgan had an RBI single in the first, scoring Jonny Corning, followed by a Jonnie Benniefield 2-RBI single. Dexter Martin got 1 run back for the Angels in the 5th with a solo home run. Winter Garden added on 5 more in the 5th with RBI’s from Henson, Montes, and Jarvis (2). DeLand responded bigly in the 6th with a total of 10 runs. Practically every Deland player had an RBI in the 6th, but it wasn’t enough as Winter Garden added on 4 more in the 6th to give them the 14-11 victory over the Angels.

The second half of the double header didn’t have near as much offense as the first game. Winter Garden put two runs up in the 4th on a 2-RBI single from Matt Morgan. DeLand got one back in the 6th on a fielder’s choice from Andre Walden, but it wasn’t enough as the dropped game number two, 2-1. Booten and Hancock were rock solid on the mound for the Suns, both throwing 3 and allowing no earned runs. Ryan Gusto threw a complete game for the Angels, allowing just 3 hits.
