Another win goes to the Monarchs as they stay hot against the Boom.

After their 21-12 win on Saturday, Sanford continued their offensive surge on Monday against
Lake Mary. The Monarchs’ began the scoring right away, with two, two-run homeruns, one
from Jakob Wiirre (Florida A&M) and one from Xavier Rosado (Stetson) in the first inning. After
a Justice Candelario (Santa Fe) RBI triple in the bottom half, it was 4-1 after just the first inning.
It would remain this way until the top of the third, where Drake Rodriguez (Saint Petersburg)
slugged another two-run homerun for the Monarchs, capping off a three-run third. After
trading runs in the fourth inning, the offenses cooled down until the seventh, where Sanford
scored a pair of runs with a bases loaded walk and an RBI single by Rosado for his third RBI of
the day. An Edrik Madera (Methodist) sacrifice fly in the bottom half of the seventh would bring
the score to 10-3. The Monarchs would add another run in each of the next two innings to give
them a 12-3 lead going into the bottom of the ninth inning. Lake Mary didn’t go down without a
fight, scoring one more run with an RBI single from Salvatore Zaremba (ASA College), until they
were finally put to rest with the final score of 12-4 in favor of the Monarchs.
