Lake Mary Boom looking to turn season around.

The Boom were able to snap their losing streak Thursday in Leesburg. The bats were quiet in the first half of this game, as the Boom were led by a great pitching performance from Jefferson Casillas (Montgomery). He went five and one third innings, only allowing one run, giving the Boom a chance to go ahead early. After scoring one in the first, the Boom put up four more off a grand slam from Justice Candelario (Santa Fe) in the fifth, making the score 5-1. After putting up one more run in the 7th off a bases loaded walk, the Boom went into the bottom of the ninth with a 6-1 lead. The Thunder battled back, scoring one on a wild pitch, followed by a two run single from George Duran (Shawnee State). Sam Gordon (Faulkner) was brought in with the bases loaded and two outs and after giving up a walk, was able to strikeout the final batter and finally end the game and the Boom’s eight game losing streak.
