In the first game of the 2021 Season, the Warthogs showed to be in mid-season form, as Winter Garden defeated Lake Mary 10-0 in 6 innings.

Both teams were held scoreless heading into the bottom of the third inning, until the Warthogs exploded scoring 4 runs in back-to-back innings. That was thanks in large part to the efforts of Outfielder Kylen Davis. The Sophomore from North Carolina Wesleyan was perfect at the plate, turning in a 3-for-3, 2 RBI performance. Infielders Jason Grant and Ty Greene were stellar as well, both adding multiple hits and 2 RBI's to the offensive onslaught. It was a true top-to-bottom effort, as nine different Warthogs reached base safely.

On the bump, the Left-Hander out of Seminole State Andrew Spolyar got the start and was lights out - striking out 5 over 3 innings of work. Blake Jankowski and Clayton Boroski continued that trend out of the bullpen, and the pitching staff combined to throw a one-hit shutout.

Ryan Kurth was the shining beacon of offense for Lake Mary, hitting a double in the right-center gap in the second inning.

Winter Garden will look to bring the momentum into their showdown on Wednesday vs. Deland - while the Boom will attempt to bounce back in their home opener vs. Leesburg.
