Lake Mary defeated the Leesburg Thunder on Wednesday 6-0 thanks to a 1-hit shutout from the arms of Quentin Graves and Jadiel Martinez.
Quentin Graves got the start for the Boom and went 6 scoreless innings. The freshman from Mars Hill was lights out, needing only 85 pitches and giving up 3 total baserunners during his time on the mound.
Jadiel Martinez was busy all day, contributing 2 hits to the Boom’s efforts. On the bump, he came in for the 7th inning and went 3 scoreless. He was incredibly efficient as well, primarily thanks to a stellar 70% strike percentage. Hunter Hollman and Caleb Strott both had good days at the plate, driving in 2 runs each.
Trenton Bullen recorded the lone hit for the Thunder, coming in the 6th inning.
Both teams are now 1-1 on the season. Lake Mary travels to Deland on Saturday, while the Thunder will look to wake up the bats at home against Sanford.
