Lake Mary defeated the Deland Hammers 6-5 on Saturday in a seven inning affair.

Sebastian Miller got the start for the Boom and was phenomenal. The Lefty from Palm Beach State fanned 5 batters over the span of 4 scoreless innings. Offensively, Jake French powered the Boom with a 2-run home run. David Baillio was busy at the plate as well, reaching base safely in all 3 plate appearances.

Noah Watkins was the star of the show for the Hammers, having good days both at the plate and on the bump. Offensively, he went 3-for-3 with two doubles, scoring 2 of Deland’s 5 runs. On the mound, he rendered the Boom scoreless in two innings of work - adding 3 strikeouts to his stat line. Not a bad day’s work for the sophomore from Bishop State.

Lake Mary has now won two straight, and will look to continue the trend on Monday as they visit Winter Park. Deland falls to the rare form of 1-1-1, and is back in action Monday at Leesburg.
