The Sanford Monarchs opened up the game with some early scoring in the top of the first with rbi singles from Billy Poure and Schyler Arroyo. Sanford had a balanced attack on offense with 7 different hitters recording hits, with Poure leading the way with 2 hits. 

The Monarchs pitching staff held the Leesburg Thunder scoreless while leading 8-0 through the first 6 innings. The Thunder were able to scratch across 4 runs in the bottom of the seventh with rbi's from Mclaughlin, Sustarsic,, Scharff, and Gutierrez. .
