Rain was the only thing that could stop Deland’s bats as the game was concluded in the sixth inning due to weather.

Frankie Delgado and Noah Watkins were on the same page as they posted nearly identical offensive numbers. Both batted 1.000 on the day, going 2-for-2 with a double and a pair of RBIs. The only difference being that both of Watkin’s hits were two-baggers. It was an offensive onslaught as four different Hammers collected multiple hits

Deland got 4 quality innings out of Ned Presley and Peyton Ricko. Neither allowed a run. Ricko was nearly perfect, striking out 5 of the 6 batters that he faced.

Leesburg struggled offensively, not recording a hit in the game. The sole run came at the hands of a walk and then advancement on a fielder's choice, followed by a sacrifice fly.

Deland is 2-1-1 and hosts Winter Park on Wednesday. While Leesburg has now dropped 3 straight and will look to right the ship on the road against Winter Garden.
