French's big day powers the Boom

Lake Mary defeated the Warthogs on Thursday, 12-4 in 6 innings.

The Boom was powered by none other than Jake French, as he continues to be the hottest hitter on this side of the Mississippi River. The Winter Springs native went 3-4 at the plate, while also driving in 4 runs. His average - now .650 - is tops in the league and shows no signs of slowing down. David Baillio was productive as well, going 2-3 with a walk, two RBI’s, and scoring 3 runs. The majority of damage was done in the 5th inning. Hunter Hollman blew the game open with a 3-run moonshot, capping off an 8-run inning. Jose Angel Allende did all he could to support the Warthogs’ efforts, turning in a multi-hit performance.

Both teams had solid outings from a member of each respective bullpen. Brett Birchler gave 2 scoreless innings to the Boom, and Clayton Boroski gave 3 scoreless innings for the Warthogs.

Lake Mary will host Leesburg on the last day of action before the all-star break. Winter Garden will do the same as they host Deland.
