Hits, hits, hits - that was the name of the game for the Bulldogs as they defeated Leesburg 11-3. They collected a season-high 16 hits en route to matching their season-high with 11 runs. Ironically, both 11-spots have occurred against the Lightning.
12 different Bulldogs collected hits, along with 4 multi-hit performances. The exclamation point of the day belonged to Francisco Galarza. The senior blasted a 2-run home run in the top of the 9th inning. Mason Wilson was among those who had two hits - and now owns a .389 average on the year. That average is the tops on the team. Austin Anderson provided the offense for Leesburg, as he went 2-3 with a home run.
Shane Cross was lights out out of the bullpen for the Bulldogs. His 6 scoreless innings were his longest outing of the season. He is now the owner of a 0.55 ERA on the year, good for second best in the league.
Winter Park heads into the all-star break in the middle of the standings at 3-5. Leesburg has struggled as of late, with this being their fourth consecutive loss. Both teams will be back in action on July 7th.
