June 11th Lake Mary Cudas @ Winter Park Freedom (13-1 WP)

The  undefeated Lake Mary Cudas (3-0) visit the Winter Park Freedom (2-1) to kick off the week for the Futures League. The Freedom jumped out to a 4 run lead in the bottom of the first. Two singles of the bat of Kelvin George (Trinity Baptist College), and Harry Storch (Lawrence Technological University) started the inning off.  A Jonathan Santiago 2 RBI single (Alabama State University) followed by a  Hunter Todd (Bryant and Stratton College) RBI single capped off the scoring in the first inning. The Cudas pushed across their lone run in the fourth inning thanks to a Garret Capman (Stetson) RBI single. Winter Park pushed across 9 unanswered runs in the last 4 innings to hand Lake Mary its first lost of the season. Wade Cuda led the hitting for Winter Park going 2-3, scoring 3 runs, and driving in 4 RBIs. 


June 11th Winter Garden Tangelos @ Sanford Monarchs (5-4 WG)

The Winter Garden Tangelos (0-3) travel to Sanford Memorial Stadium to play the Monarchs (1-2). Winter Garden kicked off the scoring in the second inning after Ty St. Amant (Guilford Technical Community College) reached on a HBP and later scored. The Monarchs responded in the bottom of the frame, as Bobby Spitulski (Troy) leads off the inning with a double and was later driven in by Connor Andrews (Lake Sumter State College) single. With a 1-1 score going into the 5th inning the Tangelos drew 3 straight walks followed by a grand slam by Julio Montes (Asa College) to take a 5-1 lead. The Monarchs come back fell short as they scored 3 runs in the 7th inning, making the final score 5-4 giving Winter Garden its first win of the season. Julio Montes finished the game 1-3 with a home run and 4 RBIs for the Tangelos, while Reece Lisle (Stetson) finished 2 for 2 and a run scored for the Monarchs. Jonathon Montes (Inspiration Academy) earned the save for the Tangelos while Ryan Bradley (Catawba Valley CC) gets the win on 6 innings pitched and only 1 earned run allowed. 


June 13th Winter Park Freedom @ Sanford Monarchs (6-5 WP)

The Winter Park Freedom (3-1) took on the Sanford Monarchs (1-3) this Wednesday. The Monarchs jumped out to a 2-0 thanks to 3 straight singles to start off the bottom of the first inning. A 2 out RBI double coming from Alex Sexton (Queens University) followed by a Kelvin George (Trinity Baptist College) single tied the game up 2-2 in the 3rd inning. With the game tied 3-3 in the sixth inning the Freedom took the lead with a RBI single from Paul Benitez. Two straight walks to start off the eighth inning led to 2 runs for the Freedom giving them a 6-3 lead. The Monarchs fell just short of a comeback after scoring 2 runs in the bottom of the ninth inning. Britt Crawford (University of West Florida) finished the game 2-4 with 2 RBIs, and 2 runs scored for the Monarchs in a losing effort. Jonathon Santiago (Alabama State University) finished the game 3-4 with 2 RBIs and a run scored for the Freedom. Micheal Glenn (FSCJ) earns the win with 7 innings pitched, 3 earned runs allowed, and 8 strikeouts as the Freedom extend their win streak to 4 games. 


June 13th Lake Mary Cudas @ Winter Garden Tangelos (1-0 LM)

The Lake Mary Cudas (3-1) went to Foundation academy to take on the Winter Garden Tangelos (1-3). The Cudas and the Tangelos were got into a pitching duel where only one run was pushed across the entire game. Lake Mary pushed across the lone run in the top of the third inning after a Gabriel Adams Jr. (St. Michael’s College) lead off single, which he followed up with a stolen base. Adams then advanced to third on a wild pitch, and was later driven in on a Tyler Krowiak (Keuka College) RBI single. Both sides had great pitching performances as Jake Janata and Andrew Paraiso (Holy Cross)combined for 7 innings pitched only allowing 2 hits for the Tangelos. The Cudas pitching was even more dominate as Luke Ostenson struck out 11 in 5 innings pitched, and Travis Torosian (Dayton State College) earned the save after throwing 2 innings and allowing only 1 hit.
